Did I say 30%??!!

The last time I wrote about business equipment was when we bought our new ice cream display cabinet and it was before Treasurer Wayne Swan delivered the Federal Budget.
Since then the rebate on capital equipment was increased to 50% as long as it is bought before 31 December 2009. So with the end of the financial year approaching and then another six months to update needed equipment we have been taking advantage of the government's generosity.
It's great for small business to get a break, even if they are few and far between. Including our ice cream display cabinet we have bought a fridge for the shop, the old one was leaking badly, and a new laptop for my writing business as well as doing the books for the shop. Now the kids can play the desktop for their games.
As long as the bank account agrees, we still have an equipment wish list and I'd encourage all other small businesses to take advantage of this tax break as much as they can.
