Dining Al Fresco

One view of our al fresco area
On a beautiful summer's day or even a warm autumn one, nothing beats sitting out in the fresh air and watching the world go by while eating a fresh gourmet sandwich and sipping delicious local coffee.

That's my blurb as far as eating in our al fresco area is concerned. On days that I'm looking after the boys and not working in the shop I love sitting in our al fresco area and saying 'hi' to many of the locals, my friends.

When we bought the shop, the furniture was a little old and tired looking so we invested in brand new tables and chairs which really set a more modern tone.

Al fresco is Spanish (and I think Italian) and literally means 'in the fresh'. And I gotta say that on days when it's not so warm, it can be very fresh. That's one of the drawbacks of having only an outdoor area. Not too many people stay to eat when it rains or when it's cold. That's ok though, as we have the advantage of being a take away shop as well.

But while the weather is good and the people are hungry we make the most of our outdoor eating area.

Hopefully you've had some nice days to use it. I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here in Canberra, it has been freezing. I don't even want to step outdoors at the moment.

Hi Samaritan,
The rain has finally stopped and the weather has been getting colder. I think coming from Canberra you would find it quite warm still...LOL

Give yourself a plug. Where is this place? You should mention your contact details in your post.

Thanks Glen,

We are a small takeaway/cafe in Evans Head in the Far North Coast of NSW, just 30 mins south of Ballina for the uninitiated.

I call it God's country, many would disagree but often change their minds when they come to visit...LOL!
