Five minute chocolate cake
June 5th 2010 03:03
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't tried it myself.
Firstly, I just want to say in regards to my previous post, I tried the recipe with chicken mince and added some chilli and sour cream rather than ricotta. Much better.
Now, on to the amazing recipe for five minute chocolate cake, handed to me by my grandmother-in-law via email...LOL!
It really works and I even served it up as a dessert for a dinner party recently, making one for each guest.
I just added a chocolate and sweetened condensed milk sauce to go with it. For the kids you can add a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Method
1. Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly.
2 Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
3. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
4. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate
cake at any time of the day or night!

I don't think it would be as quick due to the different ways that ovens and microwaves cook, but I'm sure it would be just as yummy.
Hi Glen,
Yeah, my sauce was a bit rich..still yummy though..LOL.
