KFC - Are they ripping us off?
June 26th 2010 09:55
It's very rare that we buy fast food but when we do the food of choice is KFC. (I'd like to say here, I got over the Kentucky Fried Chicken taste after my twenties but some habits die hard in my husband).
We decided on the 15 piece pack as between two adults and two children we figured that would be plenty for dinner plus some leftovers.
Unfortunately, when we opened the box it was very disappointing. The price for 15 pieces was $25.95, so we are looking at $1.70 a piece.
The break down was as follows:
Four wings
Four legs
Three breasts
Three thighs
Two ribs
As you can see the balance was further to the smaller pieces, which they tried to make up by giving us an extra piece.
I'd like to add here that hubby and I BOTH worked at KFC in our past lives as teenagers so we have an idea of what the combinations should be.
With the five piece pack a customer should get:
One wing
One leg
One breast
One thigh
One rib
So logically we expected triple those in the 15 piece pack.
But no, as you can see above, one of the ribs was missing replaced by a wing and leg. And not very big ones at that.
Have we been ripped off?

The difference in sizes between legs and the wing. (Excuse the messy knives, we grabbed what was nearby).
Have we been ripped off?
