My favourite customers

I know I've sometimes written on here about customers that get up my nose but I have to say that we have some lovely people who come in on a regular basis and I'd love to list them here without actually giving away their identites. Some are real characters.
The Whip Man - so called because he has a sign on his house that says just that. He rides in the shop on his gopher, barks out his order and then proceeds to a seat in the al fresco area. When he's finished his meal, he'll then get out of his gopher and walk in to pay!!! I like him because I know all his gruffness is just show. He loves a bit of banter as he complains about the length of service, the coffee, the toast etc. etc. As one of our cheekier juniors pointed out to him:
"You keep coming back though". That always makes him laugh.
Iluka Man - My nickname for him as that's where he lives. Every second Sunday he would come in and order the same toasted sandwiches for himself and his wife, then he'd order two scoops of vanilla ice cream for his dogs. He has a very soft voice and tends to mumble so often while I'm chatting and getting his order I have to guess what the topic of conversation is, and laugh when he laughs.
No sugar doughnut lady - only ever buys one doughnut with no sugar.
Young doughnut woman - currently the record holder for the most doughnuts bought by a single person. 40 doughnuts for her birthday breakfast.
Upsize/downsize lady - Orders a BLT and depending on her mood ,and perhaps how well her clothes are fitting that day, will upsize the amount of bacon or downsize it.
Extra large flat white with one sugar guy - That's what we yell out to him as soon as we see him coming. He nods his head and then comes back later to pick it up.
There are many others, too many to list, but it's lovely when you can know what your customer wants and provide it just the way they like it.
