Training!
August 21st 2009 11:03
At some point when you run your own business, training will need to happen. Before we opened, in fact the day before, Sir and I were training to learn how to make coffees. Since then Sir and one of our senior staff have done barista courses as well as how to handle food safely and hygienically.
We also need to train others. Whether it be seniors or juniors, we need to be able to show people how our shop is run. Tomorrow Sir is back on the training path with a new junior. We are preparing for the summer holiday onslaught and have to start preparing now.
Hopefully we have learnt our lesson and rather than trying to teach the poor girl EVERYTHING we do in one shift, he will start her on simple tasks like, perhaps, dish washing and making the odd milkshake. Cooking hamburgers and bacon and egg rolls can be for another day when her confidence is a little more stable.
